An Afghan Official Weighs In

Turns out that was not my last post about Afghanistan or military affairs, this just came in from a friend of mine, graduate of Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and now a senior-level official in a crucial Afghanistan ministry.

I'll say MCCrystal replacement should have been done long ago... McCrystal was "fueling fire in order to stop the fire" ... Afghan government is in the middle of negotiation with the modern Taliban. McCrystal was hurdle for all this process and I believe Petraeus will be pretty useful in this context. One thing worries me is that McCrystal, although used power to beat the power, was close friend to Karzai...

So let's see how the Petraeus-Karzai dynamic will play out.
